Romans love their greens! And when winter comes, 'puntarelle colle alici' follow. "Puntarelle" is particular variety of chicory that makes a wonderful crispy salad. It's served with anchovies and tossed with a dressing of vinegar, extra virgin olive oil and garlic. If you're in Rome in the right period, don't miss your chance to try it. It might be rainy and cold some days, but ehi, if that's the price for this unique type of salad, I'm happy to pay for it.
